Time for a poll

We're overdue for a poll dontcha think?

I've been thinking about getting my hair cut, and thinking about going for more than my usual trim. I've enjoyed having long hair for the last few years, but I'm starting to think that it may not be the most practical choice for after the baby comes. It takes a long time to dry and - when I get really industrious - fix. It also requires a lot of brushing or else it gets dreadfully tangled.

I'm thinking that rather than go months looking like a haggard new mom who hasn't had a chance to look in the mirror much less work on her coiffure, perhaps I'd be better served with a "wash 'n go" type hairstyle. Those of you who remember when I shaved my head know I'm not scared of making radical changes hair-wise. But my hair's been the same for so long I'm sort of at a loss for what to do with it. I'm leaning towards something shoulder length and layered, but maybe that's not realistic. Perhaps I should go back to something more pixie-ish.

Obviously I need some help here. Which is why I'm calling on you, Dear Reader. I thought it'd be cool to try out one of those virtual hairstyle web sites to figure out my new 'do. As you can see below, that proved to be an exercise in humor more than anything else. But I thought you might get a kick out of some of these...

Speaking from experience, I'd go for pixie! Even the shoulder length and chin length will need brushing and time to dry and will get tangled. Besides, I think the shorter the hair, the more focus is put on your gorgeous face and you'd be totally worry free! But any style would look good on you so go for your ease and comfort. Ah yes, I just thought of another reason to cut: the longer the hair, the more for the little one to pull!

personally, i like the 4th one down (but not bleach blonde). u have already done the pixie, and the longish one is too similar to what u already have. i'm seriously hoping the bottom 3 are jokes, but i just never know with u! (haha) the other one that's short but just longer than a pixie will require lots of prep/style time/product i think. No matter what, u will look adorable. U always do!

You absolutely think of everything!! I voted for No 4--but I'm not sure about the blonde color. Some of the styles are really a hoot! Can't wait to see which one you choose. Love you, Grandma Carolyn

You will look fantastic in any style. I found it eaiser to have long hair pulled back in a pony tail as my hair grows quickly and it was hard to keep appointments every 4 to 5 weeks for a haircut. 6 weeks was way to long. However, if you don't keep it pulled back, as soon as Roan is able she will grab onto your locks with a grip you will not believe. Then again, perhaps you and Roan can share a pixie look for a while. I don't like any of the choices and Stephen likes the pixie look you used to have (surprises me!). Length is a dilemma - too short means more trims; longer may be in Roan's grasp. You might be on to something with layers though. Before you pick a style interview a stylist and get their ideas. The right stylist can make any length work. Layers seem easier for me than when my hair was short. I do think you will look good in a bob...I am sure you will find something adorable. :) Mom & Stephen
